The answers merchants look for before installing the assistant.
No. It answers only from your product pages, your policies and the documents you add. If the information does not exist, it says so and offers to put the shopper in touch with your customer service.
No. The assistant is added as a block from the theme editor, and removed the same way. Your theme is not modified.
No. The component is light and all network traffic runs in the background, off the page's main thread. Your store's rendering is never delayed.
Yes. Every message can be switched on or off in the settings: material, size, availability, delivery, returns, payment, recommendations.
Never. It can mention the payment options you offer if you have declared them, but every payment happens inside the Shopify checkout.
It comes from your own public page about it, read by the site scan. If you have no dedicated page, write your payment options into the settings. With neither, the message simply never appears: nothing is promised on your behalf, and the shopper confirms at checkout.
It reads your public pages, like any visitor would: delivery, returns, exchanges, payment, size guide. No access permission is requested from you for this. That is what lets it speak about topics that do not exist as Shopify policies.
To your customers: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. By default it follows the language of the page.
Yes, and differently. On desktop it notices the area you hover; on mobile, where there is no hover, it notices where scrolling stops and where it starts again. The message shown matches what the shopper is actually looking at.
We receive no name, no email address, no phone number and no postal address, and we never open your customer records. The order counter receives a visitor identifier and an amount: in Shopify's classification that is level 1, never level 2, which covers the identity fields.
The size they already ordered, whether they already own this product, and the date of their last order. That information is read by your theme and used inside the customer's browser: it is never sent to our servers.
It is erased from our servers automatically, with nothing for you to do.
The Impact tab shows the orders and the revenue attributed to the assistant, over the window you choose: thirty, sixty or ninety days.
The assistant will be less useful, but it will never talk nonsense: it stays within what it knows. Filling in your product pages is the best way to improve its answers.
